This privacy policy applies only to the websites and services controlled by LG ELECTRONICS HONG KONG LIMITED.("LGEHK" or “we”) where this privacy policy is posted or referenced and through information collected via services (collectively, the "Sites"). This privacy policy does not pertain to other information that is collected offline or to information that is posted or provided by third parties.

By using the sites, you consent to the terms and conditions of this privacy policy and to our processing of personal information for the purposes stated below. If you do not agree to the terms and conditions of this privacy policy, please do not use the sites.

1. Introduction

Sites with the purpose of creating an experience of what LGE brand is and its various products with detailed information. It also provides customer services for current and future customers.

his Privacy Policy sets out how we collect, use, and share information that we obtain as a result of your use of the Sites. This privacy policy applies only to information collected on the Sites and does not apply to information collected by LGEHK or its affiliate(s) through any other means.

LGEHK reserves the right to add or remove service from its Sites and to modify its service from time to time without notification.

These third party services are outside the scope of this Privacy Policy and have their own policies that apply to the collection, use, and sharing of information in connection with their services. 2. What information does LGEHK obtain?

There are a variety of ways that we may collect information from you; below is a list of some ways we may collect such information:

  1. We may collect your first and last name and product or service details if you contact us with a question related to our products or services;
  2. We may collect your first and last name, mailing address, and billing information if you purchase our products or service on the Sites. This information may be used to deliver products or service which you have purchased;
  3. We may collect your billing information, date of birth, address, phone number, and details of your product and hardware in order to provide customer service;
  4. We may collect your first and last name, mailing address, and usage data in order to track your usage of the Sites.
  5. We may collect registration details about products or any hardware(including serial number, place of purchase, purchase date)that you purchase, and this information may be tied to your name and mailing address;
  6. We may collect your first and last name, mailing information, email address, and billing information if you download information from a Sites;
  7. We may collect your name, email address and/or phone number if you contact us with a question;
  8. We may collect your first and last name, date of birth, and email address if you choose to participate in a contest or sweepstakes;
  9. We may collect your name and mobile phone number if you consent to receive autodialed and/or pre-recorded telemarketing messages from or on behalf of us at your mobile number.
  10. We may collect your name and mobile phone number if you consent to receive SMS/MMS messages from or on behalf of us at your mobile number.
  11. We may collect your first and last name, email address, password and screen name to upload content / add a comment / add a review on the Sites.

The information that we may receive when you use the Sites falls into the following categories:

  1. Device Information. We may collect information about your products that you purchase or ask customer service through the Sites. Device Information may include product code or model number,your IP address, product category or, F/W and S/W information, country code or device Id (MAC Address, UUID, etc.).
  2. Account Information. When you first register with the Sites, you will be asked and prompted to enter certain information, such as your email address (which will be your user ID), password, telephone number, name, and address.
  3. Usage Information. Usage Information refers to all information collected from the Sites such as what action has been applied to the Sites such as clicking logs; your registration details or how you may be using the Sites.
  4. IP Address. When you use the Sites, we may automatically log your IP address (the unique address which identifies your computer on the internet) which is automatically recognized by our server.
  5. Cookie. A "cookie" is a small text file that may be used to collect information about your activity on the Sites. For example, when someone visits a page within the Sites, a cookie is placed on the user's machine (if the user accepts cookies) or is read if the user has visited the Sites previously. When used in HTML-formatted email messages, web beacons can tell the sender whether and when the email has been opened. 3. How will LGEHK use the information it obtain?

We use your information that is collected through the Sites primarily for the following purposes:

4. Information Sharing

  1. To our parent company, subsidiaries and affiliates LGEHK may have to share your data with these parties in order to provide you with services that have been requested by you, or so that we can ensure our services and products are meeting your needs. For example, in some instances LGEHK may be required to transfer your data to our parent company in the Republic of Korea in order to provide you with a product or service requested by you. In addition, LGEHK may share your data with its affiliates and subsidiaries around the world for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. The term ‘affiliates’ or ‘subsidiaries’ refers to group companies who may be using LG name or who has common ownership or control such as LG CNS, or LG Electronics France S.A.R.L.
  2. We generally do not share with third parties the information we receive as a result of you using the Sites. Nevertheless, please be aware of the following circumstances where we may share such information with the following entities
  3. Third Party Service Provider.
    1. - If you purchase or download an item from a site, we may share your data in order to provide the item to you. In addition, if you email us a question, we may use your email address to process your request and respond to your question. In addition, if you purchase a product via the Sites, we may need to share your data with third parties in order to have that product delivered to you and installed as you requested. Also, if you are entering into the promotional events (such as competition or prize draw), we may use your data in order to fulfill the terms of that promotion.
    2. - To unaffiliated third-party service providers, agents or independent contractors who help us maintain our Sites and provide other administrative services to us (including, but not limited to, order processing and fulfillment, providing customer service, maintaining and analyzing data, sending customer communications on LGEHK's behalf, and entry collection, winner selection and prize fulfillment for contests, sweepstakes and other promotions). 5. Collection and Use of Information from Children under the Age of 14

Protecting the privacy of children is important to us. LGEHK does not knowingly collect or maintain personal information from anyone under the age of 14 or knowingly allow such persons to use the Sites. If you are under 14, please do not attempt to register on the Sites with any personal information. If you are at least 14 but under the age of 18, you must have your parent’s or legal guardian’s permission to use or access the Sites. If LGEHK learns that a child under 14 has provided us with any personal information, LGEHK will promptly delete such personal information.

6. Overseas Transfers

We, our affiliates, subsidiaries, and suppliers may use information (including your personal information) in countries other than where you are located in connection with providing you with our service and any other purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. The data protection laws in many of these countries may not offer the same level of protection as those in the country where you are located. However, before transferring your personal information we will take steps to ensure that such information will be afforded the same level of protection. 7. How long will LGEHK keep my personal Information?

We will take reasonable steps to make sure that we keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for us to provide you with using the Sites or other purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.

8. Cookies and other tracking technologies

When you access the Sites, we and our third party partners may use cookies – small text files containing a string of alphanumeric characters – and other tracking technologies. We may use both session cookies and persistent cookies. A session cookie disappears after you close your browser. 10. Forums, Chat Rooms and other Public Posting Areas

Please note that any information you include in a message you post to any product review board, chat room, forum or other public posting area is available to anyone with Internet access. If you do not want people to know your information, such as your e-mail address, do not include it in any message you post publicly.

11. Third Party Web Sites

This statement applies solely to information collected on the Sites. The Sites may contain links to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy policies, collection of personal information practices and the content of these other websites.

12. Assignment

In the event that all or part of our assets are sold or acquired by another party, or in the event of a merger, you grant us the right to assign the information collected via the Sites.

13. Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated by LGEHK from time to time, without notice, although we may inform you of any material changes through an update to the Sites, and in such case, you would be asked to accept the update. If you do not consent to any updates to this Privacy Policy, some of the service may be restricted.

14. Security

We use commercially reasonable efforts to safeguard the confidentiality of your personal information. Nevertheless, due to the design of the internet, ever-changing technology, and other factors outside of our control, we cannot guarantee that communications between you and the Sites will be free from unauthorized access by third parties or that LGEHK will not be subject to security breaches. We shall not be liable to any leakage of the personal information beyond our reasonable control. We also do not accept any responsibility for the disclosure of personal information due to errors in transmission or unauthorized or unlawful acts of third parties or your decision to disclose your personal information. You must also take appropriate steps to keep your password confidential and change it regularly.

15. Governing Law/Venue/Forum

This Agreement shall be construed and take effect in accordance with laws of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China (“Hong Kong”). Any disputes arising out of or relation to this Agreement shall be settled by arbitration in accordance with the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules as at present in force and as may be amended by the rest of this Clause. The appointing authority shall be the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (“HKIAC”). The place of arbitration shall be in Hong Kong at the HKIAC. The language to be used in the arbitral proceedings shall be English. There shall be only one (1) arbitrator to be appointed by mutual agreement between the parties on the choice of arbitrator, or if otherwise no mutual agreement, to be appointed by the HKIAC in accordance with the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules. The award rendered by the HKIAC shall be final and binding on the parties hereto. The Parties will abide by any decision in the arbitration and any court having jurisdiction may enforce it.

17. Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486)

According to the Ordinance, we must collect your personal data in a lawful and fair way, for a purpose directly related to a function /activity of you. All personal data must be accurate and must be used for the purpose for which the data is collected or for a directly related purpose, unless we obtain written and voluntary consent from you. We do not keep the personal data we collected for a period longer than is necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it is used. We also take practical steps to safeguard your personal data from unauthorised or accidental access, processing , erasure, loss or use.
